Modding support, one of the most recent additions 343 Industries has brought to Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC, will not be coming to the console version of the game, at least not anytime soon.

In a new Halo Waypoint blog post, 343’s community support and engagement coordinator, 343Postums, said that the Halo: MCC team has “no plans to bring mods down to console from PC” and that the goal for this year is to “roll out and improve the modding experience on PC.” 343Postums goes on to say that while there is no official plan to bring mods to consoles, support might be added in the future, but the feature “is not in the current roadmap.”

Last week, 343 Industries updated Halo: MCC to support Halo Custom Edition maps. 343Postums says that while this “isn’t the first effort the team has conducted around modding,” it is one of the more impactful ones that players have been able to get to grips with. “The publishing team is hard at work exploring how to expand this support for other titles (looking at you Halo 2 Vista), but only time will tell,” 343Postums writes.
